Did you catch Autonomy Day last month? The celebration of UON’s autonomy from UNSW, back in 1965, is acknowledged every year with a huge party at Bar on the Hill!
A pancake brekky and live music from student musicians, Chloe & Alexine, kicked off the day. Keeping up the tradition, residents from Student Living came in matching wing t-shirts with all sorts of designs.
As the day got warmer, so did the vibes with the silent disco opening up three live DJ acts on the basketball court to tune into! Masters of Sunset had the Park on the Hill stage covered with even more beats.
The day continued to be lit up with dance beats, giant games, food trucks and glittery braids everywhere!
Leading into the afternoon, more DJs took the stages with a mix of house, EDM and classic dance hits on the decks.
As the sun came down, OddMob and Neon Motion dominated the closing sets with everyone flocking to the lawn stage at the Bar on The Hill to catch their mixes.
If you didn’t have a chance to catch Autonomy Day this year, make sure you check it out in 2024 as it’s a rite of passage for every student! Keep an eye out on UON’s socials for next year’s date release.
