Where Be The Light

WHERE BE THE LIGHT?

Finally found

the tunnel

oh promised land

that held

the Light

seeking into

the darkness

saw the light

beckoning

brightly

but first the tunnel

dark

dank

dripping

curving

soot-smeared walls

time-worn brick

slippery

with mould

hastened

careless

reckless

into the

dimness

towards the

glow getting brighter

took a few steps

eager

sense of danger

faltered

wait wait

something wrong

paused

stopped

listened

rumble

vibrated my feet.

the light

that precious grail

I was

seeking

at the end of

the tunnel

an oncoming train!

turned and ran

ran out of

the tunnel

ran for my life

ran into the light

that was all

around me

all of the time

the beautiful light.
