freedom slavery

okay i have some ideas for freedom slavery issue

some angles to come in from, in case people where wondering what to do, just get some people talking about it some creative juices flowing.

first thing i thought of is how australia was like started in an unfree way, that is it was founded on work from convicts, how that permiates in australian culture how the land was taken in a totally unfree from the aborignals and how aborignals where taken away and used for labour etc, way, and how really australia for the british empire was just a dumping area originally for its trash, then i thought about how australia's history was under the british empires control for so long and how we still have the fucking queen on our coins and as our head of state, you could have some republican kind of thing going.

then i thought about the more philosophical side of freedom, how does anyone really have any freedom to begin with, and how if your a determinist freedom is reallly a myth, especally if you belive in a pre-determined universe.

Like originally if you follow genisis, 'god created everything' then after a while the catholic church worked out that means that people have no free will because that means god pretty much controls everything including evil things in the world, seeing god is omni potent, that was bad, because it means he would of also had to create sin, so the church divorced free will from god, the current argument from the catholic church scince the 16th century is 'god created man with his own free will' so man is ultimatly responsible for his own evil doings and sins, and you cant blame god for evil things.

However of course there are plenty of ethical problems with that, like at some point god must of realised that giving humans free will would mean he would conduct evil deeds, isnt that as bad as evil itself? The original premis from genisis still prevails that god created everything so even if you divorce free will from everything there are still problems like time, and physical nature of the world and the things around it..so even if free will was obtained by humans then the other deterministic factors like the enviroment still remain,  where free will takes place, in essence he puts in all the values that determine all the outcomes..ie a giant tsunami....

Even if you dont belive in god, the whole idea that the universe is determined is still a poweful one, science almost bathes in the idea, all throughout pyschology there are ideas and pointers ...saying the that human nature is determined by outside factors.

some of these ideas have been dangerous to humankind and people take them too literally like people seeing people and races as machines that needed to be treated accordingly, but on a deeper and more intellecutal way, its hard to see how humans are not determiantisc animals of their enviroments, and behave according to a strict sense of common behavioural reaction and response fashions.

anyways theres some ideas to chew on.
